17th Dec - Working on D1 Past Papers


LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To prepare for actual exam by attempting a full Past D1 paper in exam conditions

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will achieve for target grade or higher in this 'mock' exam

LESSON: Hand out exam papers, ensure students are aware of exam rubrick. 

Second 30 mins of lesson 2 is to be used to start marking 

PLENARY: If completed in time check results against grade boundaries, discuss areas for revision.

Work through exercises 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D, 6E AND 6F AND 6G - deadline is Tuesday for B,C & D 
Friday for E,F and G

Week Beginning 10th Dec - Attempt a Past D1 paper in exam conditions

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To prepare for actual exam by attempting a fullPast D1 paper in exam conditions

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will achieve for traget grade or higher in this 'mock' exam

LESSON: Hand out exam papers, ensure students are aware of exam rubrick. Use rest of leeson 1 and 30 mins of lesson 2 to attempt the paper

Second 30 mins of lesson 2 is to be used to start marking the exam paper. Swap scripts and hand out marks schemes so students can mark each others attempts.

PLENARY: If completed in time check results against grade boundaries, discuss areas for revision, with a view to repeatng this exercise with another paper next week..

Thursday 6th Dec - Sum of an Arithemetic Sequence

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: UNderstand how to sum an arithemetic sequence and solve problems involving series.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: YOu will be able to solve problems involving artihmatic series.

LESSON: Remind students of Tuesdays work using the last screens of this lesson.
Then look at summing and arithmetic sequence using this lesson.

Work through exercises 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D, 6E AND 6F AND 6G - deadkine is Tuesday for A,B,C & D Friday for E,F and G

Tues 4th Dec - Sequances ANd Series - Intorduction

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Discover and use the notation for both inductive and deductive sequences

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to manipulate and work out values in both inductive and deductive sequences

ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY:  ou Have 10 mins to solve all parts of all questions in Ex 6A on page 83(old Book) - 93 (new Book)

LESSON: Work through this Lesson  using questions to give students practice with both inductive and deductive sequences

You should now be able to solve all problems in Ex 6B and 6C

PLENARIES: Students checking answers to onscreen questions, support at tables.
