examples to use:

  • Ex 3E - 5b -  x2 – 5x – 14 >0

  • Ex 3E q9 - Find the values of k for which kx2 + 8x + 5 = 0 has real roots
  • Ex 3E - Q 11b Find the set of values for which
       2(x + 1)(x - 4) - (x - 2)>0

PLOTTING 2 functions
Example 8 page 48 - On the same diagram sketch the curves with equations y = x(x - 3) and y = x2(1 - x) then find the coordinates of the points of intersection

Example 9 page 49 On the same diagram sketch the curves with equations y = x2(x - 1) and y = 2/x
