Fri Mar 30th – Integration by parts

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Discover and use the Integration by Parts methods

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to solve difficult Integration using the 'by parts' method

LESSON: Work through the two Mymthas Lessons

  1. Integration by parts
  2. Integrating twice by parts

HOMEWORKS:

You should be able to solve the problems in Ex 6E from our previous work

You should be able to solve the problems in Ex 6G

Tuesday Mar 20th – Integrating Fractions

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To discover and use processes to integration fractional functions

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to integrate a function when it is written as a fraction

LESSON: Work through the lesson on Integrating Fractions, use questions screens repeatedly to give students lots of practice where needed.

PLENARY: checking answers, individual support.

HOMEWORK: Integrating Fractions on MyMaths

Fri – Mar 16th – Integration by inspection & Integrating exp(x) and 1/x

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Recap on the principles of Integration and then how to solve integration by thinking of the reverse of differentiation, including exp(x) and 1/x

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to solve simple integration problems using inspections methods

LESSON: Work through these two lessons, using question screens to give students an oppoertunity to solve some integrations themselves.

Integrate By Inspection and Integrate exp(x) and 1/x

PLENARY: Checking student results, discussion on methods, support of individuals

HOMEWORK: The two online homeworks for each of the above lessons has been set to be completed BEFORE Tuesdays lesson.

Weds 7th March: How to Calculate the angle between two lines

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Discover how to work out the angle between two lines

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to find the angle between two lines defined with vector equations

LESSON: Work through This Lesson. Use Question screens to give students an opportunity to develop their skills.

Any time left in lesson work through Ex 5j page 82.

HOMEWORK: Complete Ex 5j and the first 8 questions of 5K for Weds 14th March you have Fridays lesson to use towards this work)

Tues 6th March – Intersecting lines in 2d and 3d

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Discover how to show that two lines either intersect of are parallel in 2D or Intersect, are parallel or are skew in 3D

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to show that two lines intersect or are parallel (or are skew in 3d), also find the coordinates of the point of the intersection if the lines do intersect.

LESSON: Work through This Lesson on IWB. Use the question screens with students to help them practice the skilss demonstrated. If any time left in lesson have a go at Ex 5l page 80

HOMEWORK: Complete Ex 5l (for Weds 14th March)

Fri 2nd Mar – Vectors – Angle between two vectors and Vector Equation of a Line

LEARNING
OBJECTIVE: To solve exam level questions on Angle between two vectors and Vector Equation problems

SUCCESS
CRITERIA: You will be able to solve all problems

LESSON: Students have this hour to work through Ex 5G and 5H with my Support.

HOMEWORK: Both exercises must be completed for Next Wednesdays lesson
